This well written piece counter-signals many people in our movement who insist we have a political solution. If there is a political solution (which I don’t believe there is) then leaving cities is a losing proposition, or so they claim.

Do you see a political solution as viable if we are scattered? I do, if we scatter collectively, as odd as that sounds. I just don’t think we will in significant enough numbers to effect political change that’s steep enough to deal with our plight.

I don't believe in a political solution because it means we will have to continue living with diversity. The solution is to regroup on territories we can defend, rebuild, and accelerate the decline of diverse urban zones. I don't believe the newcomers will be able to survive without us babysitting them. Let them find out what it means to make us their enemy.

If things remain as they are, I agree. I have purchased land and an old house in a very rural area with the intent of leaving defendable space for my kids and theirs. I do this because I agree with your thinking. If something changes and a political solution is possible, no harm is done in my preparation. Thank you for your article. I will share it with a few friends.
