"Van Life" or White Flight

The Fall of the USA

“Van Life” or “camper life” is a popular escapist fantasy among white people of all ages, and understandably so. It signals the return to the white ancestors’ way of life, the pastoralist Yamnaya, who used to roam the grassy planes of the Pontic Steppe, riding their wagons pulled by cattle, or in warrior carts pulled by horses—just like the early European settlers going west across the USA.

Carrying along everything they need, including water, the escapees experience a decoupling from the restrictions of urban life; a sense of boundless freedom far away from overcrowded civilization. We chase the horizon and follow the Sun. But where the white ancestors found green pastures for their cattle, the modern freedom-finders stay connected to the internet, taking jobs in the ‘gig economy’ for as long as it lasts.

The Ancestral Legacy

The white ancestors, the horse-riding Yamnaya, eventually grew tired of their way of life and became fearless raiders of settled societies, possibly raiding the towns of ancient Egypt, Persia, China, and most certainly of Celtic Europe. Arriving in Southern Scandinavia some 2,000 to 5,000 years ago, the warrior bands ventured further south into Celtic lands, taking what is modern-day East England, The Netherlands, Germany, and Austria.

Contrary to popular belief, the Yamnaya weren’t blonds but black-haired people, though many did have blue eyes. The native Europeans were the blond ones, and their men were frequently killed off by the invading raiders. Modern Europeans usually have a lineage of fathers tracing back to the Yamnaya males (“Aryan” pastoralists), whereas our maternal lineages trace back to the native Europeans (Neolithic farmers and remnants of Mesolithic hunter-gatherers).

Killings might have been brutal. No written records about the Yamnaya were left behind, but in ancient Mesopotamia, according to the story of The Lament for Ur, citizens wept as raiders cut off their water supply, waiting patiently for the inhabitants to dehydrate. Then, the raiders broke through the defenseless walls and smashed the 20,000 or so dwellers’ heads in “like clay pots”.

Perhaps that’s how it went. Indeed, the horse-riding Yamnaya wielded a sort of hammer, Thor’s weapon, and archeological evidence suggests many of their peasant victims simply had their skulls smashed in.

Why Are Whites (Thinking of) Leaving?

In stable societies, individual citizens may predict and plan for the future. The more stable a society is, the more people will focus on the longer term. Under foreseeable conditions, it makes sense to save and invest “for later”. Investing in higher education also makes sense. But when economies become myopic and political decisions are increasingly made on a whim, the people grow weary of the future, and they start planning for the present moment.

Western civilization is coming to an end, and perhaps China will cease to exist along with it, as the two civilizations are really one globalized urban civilization, with China recently taking the economic lead.

Such an end implies neither the extinction of the Chinese more of the white people, but rather their departure from organized society. After the collapse of the cities, the Chinese may return to their rice fields, and white people shall return to the pastures—until, one day, raiders once again emerge from our midst.
