While British police are looking to arrest online agitators for retweeting the wrong description of a child murderer, we won't forget that, when soon the same authorities expect us to go to war for them in far-away foreign lands, fighting Russia, Iran, or China.

I don't think so.

You can't repress your countrymen like that and still expect loyalty in return. Our political classes have turned against their own in nearly every Western nation.

But a man who has lost his society's protection immediately wins the right to defend himself. Our self-defense will not be based on some intellectual concept of a rules-based order, but on the more direct principle of Eye for an eye.

Eye for an eye means, from now on, that every time our governments cheat us out of more of our freedoms, they shall regret it. Every time our people are harmed, but the authorities promise to secure mosques instead, we shall make them wish they hadn't betrayed us.

It can't go on like this, the tables will have to turn, the hunted will become the hunters. It's like that old protest song by Bob Dylan, called The times they are a-changing:

The line it is drawn

The curse it is cast

The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now

Will later be past

The order is rapidly fadin’

And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’

The order is rapidly fading. It is as true a statement as it was nearly 60 years ago as it is today. This time, however. It won't just be a song. The order is rapidly fading. We will no longer accept being the appointed scapegoat while government officials draft new definitions of Islamophobia or antisemitism.

Where are our definitions? Why don't we deserve special protections? We've done nothing wrong. We are the descendants of the founders of these nations, those who've bled the most for them. So let's put an end to this humiliation ritual.

We shall take great pride in who we are. We shall take charge of our destiny. There is no "global community". There is only a choice between foreign overlordship or national sovereignty, and we're not taking orders from anyone any longer.

The times, they are a-changing.
